The location of the hostel is very convenient. It is in a historical and storytelling building in the old city. The room is clean and tidy, the bed is very large and comfortable, the breakfast is fresh and rich, and we also have the hard-boiled egg custard we haven't eaten in Italy for two weeks. Residential accommodation to the Norman Palace and Palermo Cathedral and some popular attractions are within walking distance of 15 minutes. What is particularly praiseworthy is the soft power of the hostel: the hostel owner is a very elegant gentleman who answers our doubts seriously and patiently and is eager to help us solve our difficulties. Due to the itinerary, we arrived at the hotel at 10:30 in the morning. Originally, we just wanted to check in our luggage. When we checked in in the afternoon, the boss saw that we were a little tired and immediately arranged for us to check in. Let's take a short rest and then play. That's so sweet! When we check out, considering that our return ticket is at night, let's keep a room for our luggage and ask us to leave the key at the front desk. Don't forget it, or you'll take it home.

Breakfast - It was varied and delicious. The staff was constantly refreshing the table and there was an abundant selection of the most delicious breakfast foods: Meat, cheese, fresh croissants, orange juice, cereal, milk, and coffee. There was also an apple cake that was so wonderful that we are trying to replicate it at home, but without success so far. The rooms were comfortable and clean. The towels were big and soft. We appreciated the remote control air-conditioning which helped us to sleep well every night. The owner, Giuseppe, accommodated our request for an additional room and answered all of our questions even though he is a very busy man. He seems to work from early in the morning until late at night to make sure that his guests have the best stay possible. By the way, this hotel is just minutes away from all the main attractions but it tucked into a quiet and safe courtyard. It was really the perfect location!

Seven beautiful rooms on the upper floor of a converted palazzio. All rooms face onto quiet courtyards, the main road at that point is also pedestrianised. Entrance is via a private lift which is well hidden, phone Guiseppe who will come down to find you. There is a stop for the airport bus just 100 yards away and the opera and cathedral are 10 and 20 minute walks away, we never used a taxi during a week in Palermo. Breakfast is Italian with breads and cakes, yoghurt and fresh fruit, and slices of ham and cheese. The staff are very helpful and host Guiseppe is a gem. The TV is Italian only but the wifi is strong enough for Sky news etc. A well to do part of Palermo with Prada etc nearby, the greatest danger comes from hordes of electric scooters that plague all of the pedestrianised areas across Palermo - look both ways before crossing junctions.

B&B location is very convenient, and less than 5 mins away from the airport limousine bus stop by foot. The owner of the B&B met us personally and upgraded 1 of the rooms to a suite without extra charges. The B&B has lift access, and gates are closed after 8.30pm. Owner will provide instructions on how to operate the lift and gates. The rooms are spacious, though some might feel that the room/furniture looks dated. Mineral water provided in the minibar daily. Breakfast was provided with fresh pastries and fruits daily. Do check out the perfume store "La Profumoteca" right beside the B&B.

Our lodging was right on a pedestrian walkway. Since the owner had rights for his lodgers to drive to it - approximately forty yards from the walkway start - we were able to drive directly into his driveway and park in the spacious, gated parking area, which was supervised by his employee. The rooms were very comfortable, so we were well-rested to walk along the entire distance of the two main walkways in the clean, safe city center. The dining was superb. Palermo could be underrated. It is a must see destination.
